As a CAISL alum, I reached out to the principal and superintendent at the time to request an apology for my past experiences, but I never received a response. During my time at the school, the guidance counselor would sometimes forget important tasks, like submitting college application letters before deadline. However, when I chose not to attend an optional school event due to personal beliefs, she harassed me, my parents, and my friends' parents for weeks. It was incredibly stressful to be a high school student in a foreign country, feeling isolated as a teacher turned others against me. Due to the lack of support from this counselor, I had to apply to university without much help, which resulted in me changing schools in my second year and experiencing a major academic setback. The constant stress even led to health issues that lasted for several years. All I ever wanted was a simple apology from the school. Edit: I have attended CAISL for two years during high school and it's sad to see people refusing to take accountability.

I couldn’t have asked for a better education and childhood! I had the good fortune to grow up here, from the ages of four to seventeen, so to me CAISL will always be synonymous with home. Through the years, I eagerly explored every learning opportunity this school offers its students, from the arts to sports to community service. And at every step of the way, I felt and I knew I was surrounded by a community of dedicated teachers and staff who truly cared and consistently gave me the tools to thrive both academically and personally, in and outside the classroom. To grow up in such a multicultural environment with a strong sense of compassion and collaboration like the one I shared with my friends and peers was, and continues to be, so important. CAISL prepared and instilled in us a steady foundation that we carry with us as we face the world and adulthood, whilst creating lasting memories to hold dear.

CAISL is simply great and I genuinly think that it's one of the best schools in Portugal. My daughter has made tremendous progress while studying there, everybody is nice and helpful. I really love the level of security they have at school and their facilities are just amazing. The territory is just huge and allows to do a lot of sports. I completely disagree with some of the comments about the food as the food us provided by Go natural brand and the quality is really good. My daughter always says she had a delicious lunch. Also as an avid reader I couldn't be happier with their library for both kids and adults. I basically stopped buying books as they have a vast collection and you can even ask them to order the ones you want! I should also say a few words about the school principal, Mr. Chapman, who is always so friendly and so eager to help you solve any issue. So, CAISL is really worth all the waiting and money.

It is all about money and business, not about education for them. As soon as I honestly told them my kid was qualified by previous public school to receive extra help in learning, even my kid was doing very well and never took the help, they immediately rejected the admissions. They even told me clearly in email that they don't want to take any extra efforts to help kid's education given they have many applicants. They are not afraid of litigation? And are you sure you want to send kids to such school?

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding several aspects of the school that significantly annoys me. Firstly, the quality of teaching at the school leaves much to be desired. It has been observed that some teachers do not serve as positive role models for students, affecting the overall learning atmosphere. The effectiveness of teaching methods and the educators' approachability and professionalism are areas that urgently need reassessment and improvement. Furthermore, the quality of the food provided at the school is a constant source of dissatisfaction among students. Despite numerous reports and feedback from students highlighting the substandard quality of meals, it appears that no significant changes or improvements have been made. This is concerning, given the importance of nutrition for student health and well-being. Additionally, the claim of being the "best school in Portugal" seems undermined by the lack of enrichment activities such as field trips, which are crucial for a well-rounded education. When field trips do occur, the extra fees placed on parents raises questions about the allocation of tuition fees and the value offered by the school. Lastly, the school's environment, as characterized by the excessive fuss made by teachers over minor issues, contributes to a restrictive atmosphere that stifans creativity and freedom among students. This approach seems counterproductive to fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.
